 I had the unique opportunity to help Goddess Guitars turn a wood sculpture, created by Dr. Nick Hernandez, into a bass guitar. The bass features a P-Bass style neck and pickup configuration, gold hardware and custom case. |  This shows the finished bass body, which includes an EMG PHZ pickup, Schaller gold bridge, and a beautifully contoured, top, back and side. |
 The body features a sculpted female form. The back of the bass is the back of the woman with the back shoulder blades at the bottom and the legs becoming the upper and lower horns of the bass (the woman's head is at the bottom in this view). |  With a high gloss ebony finish, the bass is a thing of beauty. |
 The bass includes a woman's head in partial profile looking inwards and the very end is sculpted as hair. |  The sculptured body as received from Nick Hernandez. The woman's back shoulder blades are on seen on the right. |
 Some minor shaping was done on the area where the bass neck would be attached. |  After milling, a form fitting piece is created that matches the back curvature of the body. |
 Milling and routing to use a bolt-on, easily swappable neck, with a P-bass neck profile, P-bass pickup and one master volume and master tone control. |  The neck was carved from a single piece of high grade birds eye maple |
 The Goddess Bass features a double action truss rod, which is adjusted from the heel. |  The fretboard is carved from black ebony |
 After gluing the one piece ebony fretboard on, the fret slots are cut. |  The unique Goddess Guitars headstock made from one piece of birds eye maple. |
